The Generic Structure of the news item text 

 Main Event / Newsworthy Event:  

→  Is the main story, a part that tells a summary of an event or important event that happened.

 Event Background / Elaboration: 

→ tells in detail the background of the event or events that occurred, who was involved, where and how the event occurred.

 Source: 

→  the last part of the news item text structure, a news source can be a source statement, witness comments, expert opinions, or statements from related parties of an event.

Because, Marquez suffered a serious injury in the race.
